I've dug around Google and this seems to be a standard message covering pretty much every Nero inadequacy, but although there seems to be useful suggestions for fixing some of the problems that occur when it's running, there's nothing I can find to help with my problem.
This also happens opening Nero Media Hub and Nero Backitup 10, but Nero Burning ROM and Nero Startsmart both open OK. When I try to open the part that I use most (Nero Vision 10) I get the message "Nero Vision has experienced a serious problem and must close immediately". Since installing the new XP I've had to re-install most applications including Nero 10. I mention this only because it may be relevant, although at a later date I may well raise a new thread asking if anyone knows how to delete the old one without a total start from scratch. That resulted in me now having a choice of the old damaged one or the new one every time I boot. I recently had an XP disaster, which could not be resolved by repairing XP, so I went for the install XP option, expecting it to kill the old and overwrite with the new.
